Banff is well-known for the Banff Hoodoos rock formations; each year, many tourists are on the lookout for them, only to capture on their camera. The Hoodoos are limestone structures that have eroded away, but they have heavy boulders on them that keep them from eroding completely.
These spires were carved by the forces of wind and water, stand like lonely sentinels overlooking the Bow River. There is a trail to follow. They are located 4 km from Banff on Tunnel Mountain Road.
